PROJECT OVERVIEW
Phoenix Project #1803
Located in the heart of Hyde Square (which is technically a circle!), Phoenix installed dozens of drilled micropiles in three distinct phases over the course of many months to facilitate the systematic replacement of three segments of underground sewer line.
Working in tandem with our client (RJV Construction Corp.), Phoenix used a variety of drilling methods to advance piles into varied subsurface stratum, including unforeseen high bedrock in some cases. The drilling progressed from wet rotary to percussive, and ultimately transitioned into the use of an overburden system to advance the micropile casings to their specified tip elevation.
After the pile installations were completed in each phase, our client was able to perform the necessary excavation and lagging operations, followed by the surgical sewer replacement.
