Auger Cast Piles / Drilled Displacement Piles

Auger cast piles are medium diameter (typically 12″ to 18″) bored, cast-in-place composite piles consisting of high strength concrete and reinforcing steel as required. The piles are excavated to depth using a continuous flight auger. After reaching the desired depth, concrete is pumped as the auger is withdrawn. Using this method, no casing is required and installation is fast.

While auger cast piles remove the soil from the ground, drilled displacement piles are another option which compacts the soil in the ground. This leads to a lower volume of spoils and a ground improvement effect.
